Is it going to happen? 🇪🇸

After two practically post-apocalyptic weeks in Valencia, questions are beginning as to whether the marathon on 12/1 should take place.
The race, which is one of the fastest in the world, is currently being maintained by the organization, but it is a matter of debate among runners and even the government whether the event should take place.
Why?
For those who are not aware, Valencia suffered a climate catastrophe on October 29th and 30th. The damage to the city's infrastructure was significant and there have been more than 200 deaths so far. See more.
Due to the seriousness of the case, carrying out the test is still not only a doubt, but controversial.
Runners, citizens and the government alike are unsure whether the right thing to do is to hold the race, since despite bringing movement to the city and boosting the economy, access to Valencia is still limited, as is the arrival of basic hygiene resources and food to supply supermarkets and stores.
Hope is great and the desire is even greater, but the most important thing is that the decision is made responsibly with everyone affected by the situation.
Gold stays at home 🇧🇷

This weekend we had the Brasilia stage of the Triathlon World Cup, and to the delight of the fans present we had a Brazilian on top of the podium.
Manoel Messias, a 27-year-old from Ceará and Brazil's representative in Paris, finished the race in the lead with a time of 53min36s, taking home the gold.
Between the top 7, just 1 minute difference. Very tight end to the race, especially in the fight for the podium.
In this dispute, the one who came out worst was the Brazilian favorite for the title, Miguel Hidalgo. By a few seconds, Miguel failed to get a podium finish in Brasília for the first time in his career, finishing the stage in 4th place.
Manoel's comeback, however, comes with a sigh of relief after an Olympics without much prominence and having dropped out of the world's top 100. With the victory, he jumps to 90th place in the rankings.
Nothing like ending the year with a good comeback!
Total chaos 🤬

There was a fiasco in one of the most traditional half marathons in Brazil.
The Meia de Sampa took place last Sunday and fell WAY short of what was expected of such a popular event.
There were several errors, from the most basic to the unacceptable.
To begin with, there was a 26-minute delay at the start, with the runners already lined up behind the line, ready to run. During this time, some people got discouraged and went home.
At the finish line, everyone didn't understand anything. The half marathon, which was supposed to be 21.1km, actually ended up being 20.7km.
Even worse in the 5km: the race ended in 4.4km, with the organization deciding to change the official distance of the digital certificates. More than 10% of the race distance was compromised, apparently for no reason other than an organizational error.
As if everything that happened wasn't enough, there were also runners who received the certificate with the wrong name and gender.
The answer: Yesterday (11), in the middle of the afternoon after all the negative repercussions, O2 Corre Brasil published a note on its Instagram explaining that an incident had occurred on the road where the event took place. No further details.
According to the words of O2 Corre Brasil itself, “the organization, taking the safety of the athletes as a premise, chose, in a short space of time, to change the routes”.
A complicated situation that could have been resolved quickly with prior warning to the runners, who were anxiously awaiting the delayed start.
