Recordes existem para serem quebrados... ou que pelo menos tentem 🤷‍♂️

Records are there to be broken... or at least tried 🤷‍♂️

Olympic gold wasn’t enough…

Not satisfied with his Olympic result ( 🥇 5000m and 4th place in the 1500m), Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen returned to compete this weekend in the Diamond League.

Competing in the 3000m, which is one of his specialties, the Norwegian with the complicated surname not only won easily, but also broke the world record for the distance by 3 seconds.

Ingebrigtsen gained prominence at the Olympics even before he won a medal. His risky strategy in the first round of the 1500m left many confused. With 300m to go, he was in 12th place and boxed in the first lane.

In the end, after a sprint, the classification came with a third place in a heat where six qualified.

It’s a shame that the 3000m is not part of the Olympics…

Is there a limit?

With advances in technology, especially when it comes to artificial intelligence, the question arises as to where this will end, if it ever ends up.

One such recent advancement is the X1 exoskeleton developed by DNSYS, which promises to help with trail running performance.

The equipment, which has engines with adjustable horsepower, allows you to save up to 50% of your energy, can reach speeds of up to 14 km/h and travel up to 17 km before the battery runs out.

Additionally, the artificial intelligence system identifies the type of terrain the athlete is on and adjusts the type of stimulus based on the terrain conditions.

A highlight of the Paris Olympics, Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis broke his own world record last Sunday (25). So far so good.

What makes the world record even more interesting is the fact that for the TENTH (!) time, Duplantis breaks his own world record by beating his previous mark by just 1 centimeter.

It all started in 2020 when he reached the then record 6.17m, and since then Duplantis has broken the mark 10 times in a row.

The explanation for this record-breaking strategy is not technical, but financial. For each record broken, the athlete receives a trifle of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS from the international federation.

Considering the world records broken since 2020, Armand Duplantis reached the millionaire mark last weekend just from the record-breaking awards.

Classic race weekend in São Paulo 🌉

(Image: Iguana Sports)

Known for being a classic luxury training event for marathon runners from SĂŁo Paulo, the 2024 edition of GreenV Run the Bridge takes place this Sunday (09/01) at Marginal Pinheiros.

The race has this reputation as a luxury training event due to the time of year in which it takes place: less than a month before two Abbott Majors (Chicago and Berlin), in addition to being one of the few major street races that offers a distance of 30km.

The event, which also includes distances of 5km, 10km and 15km, starts at the beginning of the Ponte Estaiada on Avenida Jornalista Roberto Marinho, enters Marginal Pinheiros and goes back up the bridge near the end of each route, with the 30km route having 4 climbs, two on each side of Marginal.

A running event for all tastes!
