Last Sunday morning we had the São Paulo edition of the IronMan 70.3 of São Paulo, and the level of difficulty of the race was higher than could be expected.
Samuel Ascenço won the race in 3 hours, 56 minutes and 18 seconds. In that time, he covered 1900m swimming, 90km cycling and 21.1km running.
The swimming and running took place within the USP university campus, with the cycling taking place along Marginal Pinheiros.
The main highlight of the race was the adversities, some expected and others not so much, that the athletes had to face during the race.
❄️ Starting with swimming, there were cases of hypothermia due to the temperature of the water in the USP lane.
🔥 When cycling and running, the triathletes' greatest enemy was the heat, with temperatures reaching 27ºC, with a thermal sensation of 30ºC.
💨 As if that weren't enough, the air quality in São Paulo has not yet returned to normal due to the fires that are occurring in different parts of the country.
Despite everything, the atmosphere along the route, especially inside the university city, where the finish line was, was one of celebration and support for the participants from fans, families and friends.
More than “just” a half Ironman.
50 years of Berlin 🎉

Next Sunday, one of the most traditional events in world athletics turns 50.
Known for being one of the fastest of the six Majors, with world records having been set on its course in 2018 and 2022 by Eliud Kipchoge, the 2024 Berlin Marathon has all the makings of a major event.
Despite its practically negligible elevation, its steepest point is between kilometers 25 and 30, where many runners tend to break down.
Before the big start on Sunday, the 5k race takes place 24 hours beforehand. In a festive atmosphere, many marathon runners who will run the following day use the race as a last effort to loosen up their legs and celebrate the end of the training cycle.
After Tigist Assefa's women's world record last year, expectations for a record break this year are low.
In the women's competition, all eyes will be on Tigist Ketema, an 800 and 1500 meter runner who made her marathon debut in Dubai 2023, and is already the ninth fastest woman in history over the distance.
In the men's category, the competition promises to be strong, with six athletes running under 2h05min. Among the six, the favorite is Tadese Takele, who came in third place last year, behind only Eliud Kipchoge and Kenenisa Bekele.
And let the Majors season begin!
Cost x Benefit = Adidas Drive RC 💰

After launching the technology that revolutionized the super-sneaker market in 2023, with the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 model, which weighs just 138g, Adidas now wants to make an equally big revolution in sales to amateur runners.
Its latest announced launch, the Adidas Drive RC, promises to be a shoe with cutting-edge technology and considerably more affordable than the models currently available on the market.
The idea is to create a comfortable, breathable sneaker that has an energy return similar to the brand's other top models, the Takumi Sen and the Adios Pro.
The model also features Energyrods 2.0 technology, which are fiberglass rods in the midsole that help with energy return and are also used in the models described above.
The model is already available in physical stores in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in six different colors and will be made available for sale on the Adidas website and licensed stores next month.
R$899.99 🤑 . Possibly the best value for money performance-focused sneaker on the market for quite some time.
